Elbow, Wrist & Hand Pain in Jessup

Relieve Elbow, Wrist, and Hand Pain at Without Limits Running in Jessup, MD

If you feel pain when gripping objects, weakness in your hands, or discomfort when typing or lifting, it’s more than just an inconvenience—it’s a sign that your joints, nerves, or muscles are under stress.

At Without Limits Running in Jessup, MD, our specialists find the root cause of your pain and develop a targeted treatment plan to restore movement, prevent long-term damage, and get you back to pain-free living. Ignoring discomfort won’t make it go away. The sooner you seek treatment, the faster and easier your recovery will be.

Common Causes of Elbow, Wrist, and Hand Pain in Jessup, MD

Your hands and arms go through thousands of repetitive motions daily, making them highly vulnerable to strain and injury. Common causes include:

  • Repetitive Strain & Overuse – Gripping, lifting, or repetitive motions inflame tendons and joints.
  • Poor Ergonomics – Awkward hand positioning while working or exercising leads to long-term tissue irritation.
  • Trauma & Injury – Falls, impacts, or sudden force can cause fractures, sprains, or nerve damage.
  • Arthritis & Joint Degeneration – Chronic inflammation leads to stiffness, swelling, and reduced mobility.

Left untreated, these issues can lead to nerve damage, chronic pain, or permanent joint stiffness.

How We Diagnose and Treat Your Pain

At Without Limits Running, we go beyond just relieving symptoms—we find and fix the underlying cause of your discomfort through a comprehensive evaluation and targeted treatment plan.

What to Expect from Your Evaluation:

  • Activity & Movement Analysis – Identifying repetitive strain from work, sports, or daily habits.
  • Postural & Alignment Assessment – Detecting imbalances contributing to pain and joint stress.
  • Hands-On Strength & Flexibility Testing – Measuring mobility limitations and pinpointing muscle weaknesses.
  • Nerve & Circulation Screening – Evaluating whether nerve compression or blood flow issues are involved.
  • Medical & Injury History Review – Examining past injuries and factors that may worsen your condition.

Once we identifythe  root cause, we create a customized treatment plan that includes:

  • Hands-on therapy to restore flexibility and reduce pain
  • Ergonomic adjustments to prevent future strain
  • Strengthening exercises to build resilience in your joints and muscles

FAQs: What You Need to Know About Your Pain and Recovery

How do I know if my pain is serious?

If your pain is persistent, worsening, or affecting daily tasks, it’s a sign that something isn’t healing properly. Pain that lasts more than a few weeks should be evaluated to prevent further damage.

Can this pain go away on its own?

Some minor discomfort improves with rest, but chronic pain, nerve issues, and joint problems rarely resolve without treatment. Delaying care can lead to long-term complications like arthritis, tendon degeneration, or loss of grip strength.

What are my treatment options?

We offer hands-on therapy, movement retraining, ergonomic corrections, and strengthening programs designed to restore function and prevent recurring pain. Our goal is to help you recover without surgery or medication whenever possible.

Take Control of Your Recovery—Don’t Wait Until Pain Becomes Permanent

If pain, stiffness, or weakness is limiting your daily activities, taking action now can prevent long-term complications and restore full function.

At Without Limits Running in Jessup, MD, we specialize in treating elbow, wrist, and hand pain before it becomes a lasting problem. Our expert team provides personalized care to help you regain strength, movement, and confidence.

I recently strained my calf playing pickleball so I scheduled an apt with DPT Karyn at Without Limits PT. It’s been very easy to schedule my appointments (I’ve been to other PT practices where making an appointment was difficult because of 1800 numbers, multiple offices, etc). During my appointments I get my Therapist’s undivided attention. This 1-on-1 approach has given me time to share my concerns, challenges and goals without feeling rushed. I’ve seen Karyn on and off for years where she’s helped me with a torn PCL, separated shoulder issues, sprained ankle, and with various pain and instabilities in my neck, knee, elbow, shoulder and back. I keep going back when an injury or issue occurs because she ‘gets me’ as an active person. Being active is vital to my mental health and well being. She helps me get back to and continue to do the things I love safely and as soon as possible. Over the years she’s helped me continue my favorite activities and sports such as soccer, pickleball, weight lifting, rock climbing, surfing, triathlons, swimming, biking and running. The exercises and treatment plans are creative, thoughtful and specific to my sports and activities, which keeps me motivated to continue the exercises, knowing they’ll help me improve in those sports. I’m very grateful to Without Limits for prioritizing their patients and for Karyn’s expertise. I highly recommend them.

I worked with Karyn DuLaney this summer after two back surgeries. She helped me make significant improvements in strength and flexibility. She has a high level of knowledge and skill and is very friendly and pleasant. She really cares about her patients’ overall well-being. I had been her patient when she worked with another group. When I saw she was no longer there, I was fortunate to find her at Without Limits. While I’m sure there are many good therapists in the area, I really wanted to continue with Karyn. The experience at Without Limits is even better because she is able to spend more time with each patient.
